I am Oliver Horsman, a multidisciplinary artist committed to revealing the hidden and often overlooked facets of our shared existence. My work flits between two interconnected domains: emotive environmental expressions and investigations into the fundamental processes that govern our natural world.
Emotive
Environmental Art
Driven by a deep emotional connection to the pressing environmental issues facing the living world today, my emotive environmental art transforms everyday materials into poignant visual narratives. These creations aim to provoke reflection and foster deeper thought.
An example of this emotive environmental process:
BEACH TREE #1
From the Single-Use Collection bending and shaping found single-use plastics into sculptures like Beech Tree #1 (2024), revealing invisible waste.

Towards the
Fundamental Art
My emotional commitment to the environment has driven me to seek a deeper understanding of the fundamental processes that have led us to our current state. Inspired by visionaries like Stephen Wolfram, Alan Turing, and Richard Dawkins, my scientific explorations delve into the core mechanisms that govern the creation and interaction of all things in nature.
This pursuit encompasses:
Reaction Diffusion Series
Seeking to disrupt the fixed nature of digital art, The simple process of squashing, removing of data and stretching adding back in repeated over hundreds of iterations creates what i now know to be Alan Turings diffusion reaction patterns. These patterns are found thorught the living world from fish to dalmations.

Melding Emotions & Fundamentals
My work embodies the belief in the profound interconnectedness of all things.
From quantum fields into atoms through chemistry to genes then complex life, we are a chain of interconnected processes and events that shape our everything.
No matter how individual and free-thinking we believe we are, we are but tiny parts of a vast, interconnected natural system. At the end of a long chain of events that we call the present.
This perspective drives me to explore both macro-level reflections and micro-level inquiries that shape our existence. By embracing the hidden and unveiling the overlooked, my art invites viewers to contemplate their role within the vast tapestry of the natural world, fostering a deeper understanding of our collective and individual impact on the environment and each other.
